Y'know now and then we'll hear all these chirps against piracy and illegal downloads and stuff? The thing is, there're these people who work their butt off to produce all those music, songs, dramas, movies and stuff so what those two did is basically cutting these people's income. Okay, I get that.

Piracy, by here means the ones Malaysian who're pretty blunt about illegal downloads love and cherish, not Captain Jack Sparrow, I do admit they're bad since someone else (pirated stuff seller) gets the benefit, and a lot of them. But they're cheap and lets face it, kalau kat cinema in a month keluar sampai 10 cerita baru, kerek2 RM60 dah hilang tengok citer je, tak masuk lagi trip nak pegi cinema, makan minum ringannye... tambah2 lagi, jadi berape agaknye. Compare CD pirate, 1CD kadang2 RM3, 3DVD just RM10, tak ke murah? Lagi2 kalau tempat jual tu jalan seminit dua dari rumah dah sampai. Yang spesis direct selling lagi best, die datang kat kite, tak convenient? Aku tengok cite ape hari tu, even a male actor admit he even bought them. Of course la the set back is quality die~ bunyi rekod, gambar pun rekod (tengok nasib la kan~)

lllegal download... Tak kesah la ko torrent ke, direct download ke, asal ko tak bagi 1 sen pun kat pemegang copyright tuk dapatkan material tu... Illegal la download ko tuh :P & bagi mereka yang tak sedar, program2 yang korang pakai patch, crack, keygen dan seangkatan dengannya, pon dalam kategori illegal download nih, except kalau terang2 die kate program tu freeware. Ni kire paling best la. Biasenye ko bayar tuk access internet je, downloadnyer tak, unless if you opt for premium accounts from certain cites la. Best memang best, free. Tapi nasib la kalau dapat virus sekali dengan file tuh (tak pun lagi sengal, download movie lain, kuarnye movie lain) Files yang dapat tuh... biasenye ade tukang upload aka uploader yang upload file2 tuh dekat site2 yang tertentu yang biasenye buat duit dari mereka2 yang beli premium account tak pun taruk ad produk atau site2 lain (paling koman paysites lerr) Ade juga uploader yang dapat duit kalau diorang involve in scheme where korang tekan link tu, duit yang aku pun tak tau dari mana datang akan masuk account uploader... tapi jarang kot. Kaki illegal download aku rasa paling ketara, no surprise, mereke yang hidup "mewah" on loan: STUDENTS IPT :P dah material die cater the taste of this group yang "takde duit" nih, of course la diorang suke (aku dah habis. wek~ =D)

So ape kaitan dua2 nih dengan aku tibe2 rase hangin kat iklan tuh?

Ni kire standard claim la tuk copyrights. Basically what they're trying to say is that korang nak buat apa2 dengan bahan yang under copyright diorang, copy ke, tayang kat mane2 ke, dapat permit diorang dulu. Well, biasenye diorang suruh bagitau pasal suruh orang baya la kan. Tak pun yang lagi pandai suruh bagi credit so people would know who's the original owner of the work and they will try to find them.

Perasan tak how uncreative a lot of Malaysian drama and ads background musics(BGM)?

That's because they rip off a whole bunch of Japanese songs by taking either the part where its vocal-less of they make or take exsisting insturmantal version of the song. Nak lagi tacky, ambik je BGM mane2, taruk jadi BGM sendiri. No credits given, authorization for the stuff... errh... I doubt there's any.


The thing is, they do crackdown against piracy, against copyright-infringing stuffs but they miss out the culprit yang SOO obvious, terang lagi kene suluh pakai spotlight. And these people even put out anti-piracy ads like, HELLO! Korang pun buat kot!



Y'know in July my sis forward me this e-mail:

"Pirated CDs / VCDs / DVDs - Road Blocks in Malaysia

To all those CDs lover pls beware! Please do not keep any pirated or burned CDs, DVDs, or VCDs in your car.

Police and Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs Ministry's enforcement division in Malaysia have started the operation to search and fine anyone who keep pirated disc inside their car especially through road block at all main road and expressways.

If any pirated or burned disc found inside your car will be charged
RM400 per disc. Example 30 discs found means the fine will be RM12,000

This is real. Another friend of mine from Seagate, today during lunch time, 5 CD x RM400 = RM2,000. One of the Plexus colleague brother-in-law caught by Police due to pirated CD in the car on the way to town for lunch with his friend in the afternoon. One CD fined RM400.

Please disseminate this to all your friends who are driving in Malaysia"

Even burn ones... This really got me WTF-ing when I read it because I'm the type of person who buys CDs and DVDs, rip em up and stash the original one someplace to delay nature's course of decay! And I know other people who does that too. And what if the the CD or DVD is a CD Data or DVD Data without a single copyrighted materials? Just bunch of CDs and DVDs filled with personal pictures, files, documents... Diorang tau ke? Diorang check ke content each CDs and DVDs?


Bagi aku cara crackdown die sangat unfair pasal kalau aim mereke2 yang tak berduit nih... Namenye pun tak berduit. Kalau duit ade, kitorang beli la! (kalau worth it...) Crack la ads & tv shows yang boleh sukehati taruk orang punye stuffs tak bagi credit. Dah la kalau dari ad tuh... Tarik customer, dapat duit... Kalau yang tv shows, naik rating, naik harga kalau nak taruk ad dalam slot tuh... Cube compare kami yang picisan2 beli pirated stuff, dapat barang murah dengan kualiti murah tapi duit kuar poket... mereke2 buat duit! Kate pasal ade sambutan tu yang ade pirated stuff ni. Ape kate korang tibe2 bagi free, konfem pirated stuff pi lingkup. Tapikan, kalau ikut logik and personal experience la, kalau your stuff is good quality, worth the money, I think sells-wise shouldn't be a problem. Maybe the thing is not at par lagi, pernah terfikir tak?
